Baby Checkup

I had a routine prenatal doctor appointment today. I'm 14 weeks and 3 days along. Dr. Weiler found the very strong heartbeat immediately and was pleased. She asked if I had any problems, and I told her that I'd been getting dizzy lately. It happened with Lauren, so I wasn't too concerned with it. It's been happening a lot more lately, though. I'm also battling some fluid in my ears. No infection, just a bunch of fluid that won't drain. I've been taking Sudafed and using a Rhinocort inhaler (though my sinuses aren't clogged at all -- it's just through them my ears should drain) since last Thursday with not much relief. So the fluid could be throwing off my equilibrium, making me get dizzy. I can continue taking the Sudafed for a week, so I'll go back to that.

Other than me dealing with dizziness, headaches, occasional nausea from the Rhinocort, and being HOT in this weather, everything is going well. Baby seems to be healthy and growing well -- as is apparent with my already huge baby bump! I'll start posting pics at 15 weeks. :) I was supposed to go back in two weeks for my AFP quad screening (alpha fetal protein -- looking for genetic disorders in the baby), but the lab tech is on vacation that entire week. So that is scheduled for three weeks on June 30th. My next checkup is supposed to be in four weeks with the ever-so-important ultrasound, but the ultrasonagrapher is on vacation that week! So I go in five weeks on July 14th. That means you've got an extra week to guess the sex of the baby! I'm not going to tell you what my thoughts are so I can't sway you one way or the other. I will tell you that I'm starting to doubt my original thought! Dr. Weiler said her gut feeling was that it was a boy, but it's going on nothing other than a gut feeling. This is the first time she's seen me this pregnancy too! I'll post a poll on my blog, so please vote! If you need to wait until you see a picture at the end of this week (to see how I'm carrying, how big I am, etc.) feel free! Just think good, healthy thoughts for the baby. :)

I think this time, you should post pictures side by side - one of your pregnant belly with Lauren and one of your pregnant belly with Laurter.

Good idea! I think I'll do that! I started pics at 15 weeks with her, that's why I'm starting this Friday with this one. :)
